Brigadeiro Recipe

Here is a step-by-step of how to make the most Brazilian of Brazilian sweet treats: Brigadeiro.  Quick to make, and a great for spooning if you have the munchies, PMS, homesickness, a bunch of kids hanging our at your house, or is feeling like “eating something that you don’t know what.”

Made out of three ingredients: sweet condensed milk, butter, and chocolate, my favorite way to describe it here in the US is “a caramelly consistency fudge bar”.

Quick side note:

The cooking time will affect the consistency of your final Brigadeiro. So, if you want to roll it like balls, and coat with sprinkles, you’ll need to cook it a little bit longer (like in this video). For a creamier consistency, you may turn the burner off once you notice it’s all blended and not sticking to the pan (usually to spoon it out and eat).

You can also add a little bit of cream (if so, whisk well for blending purposes), for using as cake filler or frosting.
